The Jakub Turac Trio is a newly formed ensemble bringing a fresh and innovative approach to jazz. Featuring drums, double bass, and piano, the trio focuses on blending various jazz subgenres and original compositions. Jakub, the leader of the trio, infuses each piece with his vision and ideas, combining technical prowess with creative improvisation. Each member of the trio is a conservatory student, gaining a solid foundation and inspiration for their own artistic expression.
The trio members have performed extensively in clubs across Slovakia and internationally (Germany, Latvia, Czech Republic). They have competed in various conservatory competitions, achieving top placements as individuals and collectively winning an award for their compelling group performance at the "Nové Tváre Slovenského Jazzu" competition.
Their mutual cohesion is one of the pillars of their success. They are capable of intuitively responding to musical cues from one another, enabling them to create a harmonious and seamless musical experience. This synergy is reflected in their performances, where each note and improvisation is the result of perfect coordination and a shared musical sensibility.
Jakub Turác
A drummer and student at the Ján Levoslav Bella Conservatory, Jakub leads the trio with an innovative and dynamic approach. Passionate about percussion from a young age, he excels in national competitions and combines technical skill in drumming with creative improvisation. His energy and enthusiasm for music bring unmatched liveliness and originality to every performance.
Tomáš Hriň
An experienced double bassist, he provides a solid foundation for the Trio, supporting melodies with his rich and resonant tone. Continuously developing his skills and technique, he regularly performs at various concerts and festivals. In addition to his excellent technical proficiency, he is known for his ability to intuitively respond to other members of the trio, creating a harmonious and seamless musical collaboration.
Tomáš Spodniak
A virtuoso pianist with a deep understanding of jazz harmony and improvisation brings unique creativity and technical brilliance to the trio. His playing is filled with passion and sensitivity, seamlessly transitioning between various styles and moods. Each performance enriches our music with his original ideas and sophisticated improvisations, adding depth and complexity.
